Move for Inclusion

inclusionNick Foley was here again with a message to Celebrate the Hero and to promote his Move for Inclusion cross-Canada bike tour.  Nick spoke to staff and students about his ride to bring awareness about the importance of inclusion regardless of race, religion, ability, sexual orientation and so on.  He begins in April in BC and hopes to complete his ride in July.  He also introduced Katherine Kerr who is starting a Wheelchair Basketball League at the YMCA in Belleville.  After the presentation, students had an opportunity to try Wheelchair Basketball in the gym.  For more pictures, visit our Galleries.

Course Selection Time - Getting Our Students Ready!

courseCourse selection is a key time in a student's academic career.  Making informed decisions now is a key message recently delivered to coursestudents by our Guidance Team and Mr. Manderville.  In the grade assemblies, resources to assist each student were highlighted.  The primary source is trentonhigh.ca, our Course Calendar website which is also linked to our school's homepage.  Course selections begin the week of February 23.  Parents, look for selection documents to come home.  Contact Guidance to discuss your student's choices or to have your questions answered.

Mr. Sonneveld's Class Builds Hydroponic Gardens

Sonneveld's classStudents in Mr. Sonneveld's class are diving into their Environmental Science class.  They can be seen here planting seeds for a planned roof top greenhouse.  Recently they designed hydroponic gardens for the wall in preparation for a major structure in the classroom windows.  And, they have been incubating sea monkeys.  Stay tuned for future developments!

Welcome Grade 8's

Grade 8Grade 8 students from our THS feeder schools recently enjoyed an afternoon of activities as part of transitioning to 'life at high school'.  Students were able to watch a typical team practice (wrestling), enjoy a dance, or play volleyball and dodgeball.  We are looking forward to working with these students next year!!
