Farmers' Market - We have the opportunity to offer somewhere between 15 and 20 students some volunteer hours during our market season. During May and June we have times on Saturdays, July and August we have both Wednesdays and Saturdays and Sept. and Oct. on Saturdays. The hours would be from 7 A.M to about 1:30 or 2 P.M. It is mainly a customer service opportunity, suitable for either girls or guys. No heavy lifting etc. It would be assisting the vendors or customers as needed. Perhaps helping a vendor set up or take down a canopy or carrying produce to a car for a senior or mom with young children. Students should bring lunch and water. We are under shelter in case of rain. Students should be friendly and respectful. We would prefer each student to be available for 2 or 3 shifts over the season but will consider less as well. In doing so, we can offer in excess of 20 hours. My contact info is as follows:

Frankford Santa Claus Parade - By participating in the Frankford Santa Claus Parade, you can earn volunteer hours.  We need walkers to hand out candy (costumes provided) and can always use help with various activities to set up the parade.  The parade is Saturday November 25 at 2:00  pm.  Depending on your job, you would be required to arrive a minimum of one hour earlier.  Please contact Kathy at 613-847-3239 or Stefanie at 613-438-6153.  Thanks and Merry Christmas!!

TMH Foundation Youth Advisory

The 2017-18 TMH Foundation Youth Advisory Council will be starting up again early October

…we have lost a few members who have move onto university or college

…so we are hoping you can help us out by passing along any names of students that would be interested in volunteering for the TMH Foundation’s Youth Council

...it is a great chance for student to have a positive voice in their community, to be philanthropic, to give back, to help and much more

Volunteer referral program:  a VIQ coordinator will meet with students to help them find volunteer opportunities that best suit their:  availability, location, interest and goals.  Please call the office at 613-969-8862 to book an appointment.

Youth Committee:  VIQ Student Ambassadors meet monthly (starting in October) to discuss ways to promote volunteerism within their schools.  They will provide announcements, posters, and social media to promote upcoming volunteer opportunities within the community and offer easy ways for students to sign up.  If you are a student who wants to develop leadership and public relations skills, this might be the right opportunity for you.
