Interdisciplinary Studies ~ Grade 11 ~ Open
This course will help students combine the skills required for and knowledge of different subjects and disciplines to solve problems, make decisions, create personal meaning, and present findings beyond the scope of a single subject or discipline. Through individual and collaborative inquiry and research, students will analyze the connections among diverse subjects and disciplines; develop information literacy skills in analyzing, selecting, evaluating, and communicating information; and become aware of a variety of resources and viewpoints on contemporary issues. They will also examine their own learning styles, relate their inquiries and research to real-life situations, and investigate career opportunities in new disciplines.

Hockey For Life ~ Grade 11 ~ Open
This course combines the expectations for Interdisciplinary Studies, Grade 11 Open, with selected expectations from two other courses; Healthy Active Living, Grade 11 Open and Introduction to Entrepreneurial Studies, Grade 11 College Preparation. This course will immerse students in the world of hockey physically, academically and culturally. Through participation in this course, students will develop an appreciation of the world as an interconnecting society. Students will use hockey as a means to develop a healthy, active lifestyle that will engage their interest throughout their lives. By concentrating on hockey skills, students will be challenged to develop personal competence in a wide variety of hockey skills, while setting goals for personal fitness development. There is a fee of approximately $180 for this course (subject to change depending on ice rental fees.)

Sports & Entertainment Management ~ Grade 12 ~ University
This course explores the important role that sport and entertainment play in our modern economy. Students will use a wide range of information (print and electronic), and research skills to analyze the impact of media, sport and entertainment in Canadian society. In addition, students will obtain an understanding of business fundamentals and how to apply these fundamentals to sports and entertainment. This course may include a field study to a major sport, entertainment, and/or media enterprise, giving students exposure to real life scenarios.
